Choghadiya Used to Know the Auspicious Time of the Day

Choghadiya used to know the auspicious time of the day

Updated Date : सोमवार, 08 जनवरी, 2024 08:37 पूर्वाह्न

Chogadiya is a simple way to know the auspiciousness of the day

Chogadiya is all about finding the right Muhurat for the right work. Muhurat arises out of our anticipations to be successful in whatever we do. Thus, the Hindu system is complete with a list of Shubh Muhurat and not so Shubh Muhurat throughout the days. Some days have better Muhurat for jobs and some have better Muhurat for marriages, for searching the right girl or guy for a marriage, for doing everything almost in the Hindi system.

So whether you are going for a Visa, an exam, a job, or you are planning a travel across the world, every single thing can succeed if you do it at a certain Muhurat is the general belief pattern. Pujas, Havans, any other spiritual practices need to be done at a particular hour of the day, and that particular hour or time when you can obtain best results for the Puja become the Muhurat, according to Astrology.

Thus, Chogadiya is the art of finding those Muhurat when you can actually perform all your works. Chogadiya comes from two Sanskrit words, Cho and Gadiya. Cho means four in Sanskrit, the number four and Gadiya means a moment, a Ghatika.

The ancient Indian time system is very different from the International time system. Chogadiya means four Ghati. In ancient India, 60 Ghatis made 24 hours.

Another big difference is that according to the ancient Indian system, a day begun at Sunrise and ended with the next Sunrise.

Thus, each Chogadiya is thus made up of 3.75 Ghati, approximately 4 Ghati. Thus, there are 16 Ghatis in a day.

Chogadiya is a beautiful way to assess each of the days. Thus, if you go through each of them, you would find that there are many good moments spread across the day yet, there are some moments which are not so good and it is expected that you would be quiet during these moments spending them in quietude and harmony.

A human believes that paying importance to any work begins with the determination of the Muhurat of that particular work.

In Southern India, the Chogadiya is known as the Gowri Panchang.

4. Rog: This is the fourth Muhurat of the Chogadiya.

Mars is the ruler of these hours.

The planet Mars is about our capability to act in a situation. It is not about thinking, but our actions and our ability to respond or react to a certain situation. But, any action without thoughtfulness can create chaos and imbalance.

This creates Rog (disease and imbalance).

Even though there is much bad and Evil in this world, yet people do not want Rahu to obstruct them in their work. This is also a very good reason why we can see that Rahu and Ketu are actually not malicious but they are impartial beings and would make you go through the same hell that you might be making others go through.
