चौथा जब नवरात्र हो, कुष्मांडा को ध्याते।
जिसने रचा ब्रह्माण्ड यह, पूजन है 
आध्शक्ति कहते जिन्हें, अष्टभुजी है रूप।
इस शक्ति के तेज से कहीं छाव कही धुप॥
कुम्हड़े की बलि करती है तांत्रिक से स्वीकार।
पेठे से भी रीज्ती सात्विक करे विचार॥
क्रोधित जब हो जाए यह उल्टा करे व्यवहार।
उसको रखती दूर माँ, पीड़ा देती अपार॥
सूर्य चन्द्र की रौशनी यह जग में फैलाए।

माँ कुष्मांडा व्रत कथा (In Hindi)

नवरात्रि के चतुर्थ दिन, मां कूष्मांडा जी की पूजा की जाती है। यह शक्ति का चौथा स्वरूप है, जिन्हें सूर्य के समान तेजस्वी माना गया है। मां के स्वरूप की व्याख्या कुछ इस प्रकार है, देवी कुष्मांडा व उनकी आठ भुजाएं हमें कर्मयोगी जीवन अपनाकर तेज अर्जित करने की प्रेरणा देती हैं, उनकी मधुर मुस्कान हमारी जीवनी शक्ति का संवर्धन करते हुए हमें हंसते हुए कठिन से कठिन मार्ग पर चलकर सफलता पाने को प्रेरित करती है।

भगवती दुर्गा के चौथे स्वरूप का नाम कूष्माण्डा है। अपनी मंद हंसी द्वारा अण्ड अर्थात् ब्रह्माण्ड को उत्पन्न करने के कारण इन्हें कूष्माण्डा देवी के नाम से अभिहित किया गया है। जब सृष्टि का अस्तित्व नहीं था। चारों ओर अंधकार ही अंधकार परिव्याप्त था। तब इन्हीं देवी ने अपने ईषत् हास्य से ब्रह्माण्ड की रचना की थी। अत: यही सृष्टि की आदि-स्वरूपा आदि शक्ति हैं। इनकी आठ भुजाएं हैं। इनके सात हाथों में क्रमश: कमण्डल, धनुष बाण, कमल-पुष्प, अमृतपूर्ण कलश, चक्र तथा गदा हैं। आठवें हाथ में सभी सिद्धियों और निधियों को देने वाली जपमाला है।

एक पौराणिक कथा के अनुसार ऐसा कहा जाता है कि जब सृष्टि का अस्तित्व नहीं था, तब इन्हीं देवी ने ब्रह्मांड की रचना की थी। ये ही सृष्टि की आदि-स्वरूपा, आदिशक्ति हैं। इनका निवास सूर्यमंडल के भीतर के लोक में है। वहां निवास कर सकने की क्षमता और शक्ति केवल इन्हीं में है।

इनके शरीर की कांति और प्रभा भी सूर्य के समान ही दैदीप्यमान हैं। मां कूष्मांडा की उपासना से भक्तों के समस्त रोग-शोक मिट जाते हैं। इनकी भक्ति से आयु, यश, बल और आरोग्य की वृद्धि होती है। मां कूष्माण्डा अत्यल्प सेवा और भक्ति से प्रसन्न होने वाली हैं।

इनका वाहन सिंह है। नवरात्र -पूजन के चौथे दिन कूष्माण्डा देवी के स्वरुप की ही उपासना की जाती है। इस दिन माँ कूष्माण्डा की उपासना से आयु, यश, बल, और स्वास्थ्य में वृद्धि होती है।

नवरात्र में इस दिन भी रोज की भांति सबसे पहले कलश की पूजा कर माता कूष्मांडा को नमन करें। इस दिन पूजा में बैठने के लिए हरे रंग के आसन का प्रयोग करना बेहतर होता है। माँ कूष्मांडा को इस निवेदन के साथ जल पुष्प अर्पित करें कि, उनके आशीर्वाद से आपका और आपके स्वजनों का स्वास्थ्य अच्छा रहे। अगर आपके घर में कोई लंबे समय से बिमार है तो इस दिन माँ से खास निवेदन कर उनके अच्छे स्वास्थ्य की कामना करनी चाहिए। देवी को पूरे मन से फूल, धूप, गंध, भोग चढ़ाएँ। माँ कूष्मांडा को विविध प्रकार के फलों का भोग अपनी क्षमतानुसार लगाएँ। पूजा के बाद अपने से बड़ों को प्रणाम कर प्रसाद वितरित करें।

Maa Kushmanda

Origin - After assuming the facet of Mata Siddhidatri, Goddess Parvati started residing inside the center of the Sun to help it liberate its energy.

Hence, from that day onwards, the Goddess became Mata Kushmanda. She is known as the Goddess who possesses the power to live inside the Sun.

The radiance and glow of her body are as luminous and fiery as the Sun. 

It is believed that Mata Kushmanda provides direction and energy to the Sun. Therefore, she is known for ruling the Sun.

Mata Kushmanda is said to be the fourth facet of the Mother Goddess and is worshipped on the fourth day of Navratri.

She possesses eight arms, holds weapons and a mala, she mounts on a tiger and emanates a solar aura. “Ku” means “a little”, “ushma” means “warmth” and “anda” means “the cosmic egg.”

Therefore, Kushmanda Mata is considered to be the creator of the Universe. It is thought that the Universe was no more than a void full of negativity and darkness until she spread light in all directions. 

On the 4th day of Navratri, Kushmanda Mata is worshipped to gain health, wealth, and strength.

It is believed that reciting the mantra of Kushmanda Mata on Navratri’s 4th-day aarti proves very propitious.

It is said that at the beginning there was nothing. The entire Universe was void and there was no sign of life and light. There was darkness everywhere and at that time, Maa Kushmanda created the Universe. She is the first being of the Universe and called Aadi Swarupa or Aadi Shakti. 

Kushmanda Mata created the Sun, the planets, and the galaxies. She replaced darkness with light and provided life to all living beings. Later, she creates three divine Goddesses- Mahalakshmi from her central eye, Mahakali from her left eye, and Mahasaraswati from her right eye.

On this fourth day of Navratri pay reverence to Mata Kushmanda after worshipping the Kalash. It will be auspicious to use asana of green color. Offer Water and Flowers to Mata Kushmanda seeking the blessing for the good health of self and dear ones. If someone in your home is terminally ill, then seek special blessings from Mata for his/her early recovery. Offer flower, dhoop, gandh etc to rever Mata Kushmanda. Offer the bhog of fruits to Mata Kushmanda as per your capacity. After performing Kushmanda Mata Katha and aarti, pay reverence to the elders of the house. Distribute Prasad to all the devotees.
